3 hurt in fire at Narinda

Three young men suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at their rented house at Narinda in Dhaka early today.

Victims Shakib Sikdar, 35, Suman Miah, 40 and Shahidul Islam, 27, were rushed to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police said.

Condition of Suman and Shahidul are said to be critical as they suffered 85 percent burn injuries while Sakib Alif has 33 percent of his body burnt.

Police suspect that someone might have set fire to the single-room house around 3:30am, Mizanur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Wari Police Station, told The Daily Star.

A team of patrol police with the help of local people rescued the three persons and sent to the DMCH, the SI added.
