3 remanded over Bogra gun attack
A Bogra court today placed three people in separate remands under police custody over the gun attack at a Shia mosque in the district that left one dead.
Accused Anwar Hossain, 56, and Jewel, 25, were placed on seven day remand each while Shamsul Alam was placed on five-day remand, our Bogra correspondent reports.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Shyam Sundar Roy passed the order after sub-inspector Kamruzzaman Mia, also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court.
Police detained Anwar Hossain from Maghihatra village and Jewel from Haripur village yesterday and Shamsul Alam from Shibganj early today.
Three armed assailants on Thursday stormed a Shia mosque in Bogra’s Shibganj upazila and opened fire on praying people, killing its Muezzin Moazzem Hossain, 70, and injuring three others.
Sona Mia, cashier of the mosque filed a case with Shibganj police station against unknown assailants in this connection on that night.
