AL activist killed in Chuadanga
Unidentified criminals shot dead an Awami League activist in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga in the afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 41, of Teorbilla in the upazila, reports our Kushtia correspondent.
Nazrul ran a private clinic at Harinakundu upazila town in Jhenidah, adjacent to Chuadanga district, said Belayat Hossain, additional superintendent of police (ASP) in Chuadanga.
A gang of about 4 to 5 criminals swooped on Nazrul at Chaidanga ground when he was going to his clinic from home around 4:30pm, ASP said.
“Criminals shot him and then slit his throat,” he added.
Atiar Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Alamdanga Police Station, said police went to the spot around 5:30pm and recovered the body.
