Appoint 10,000 private pry teachers in 60 days, HC tells govt
The High Court today directed the government to appoint around 10,000 qualified candidates as teachers to registered private primary schools within 60 days.
The HC bench of Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Kazi Md Ijarul Haque Akondo passed the order while delivering the judgement on 367 writ petitions.
Around 10,000 candidates who have been selected for the job in 2012 through different examinations and tests, filed the writ petitions with the HC, saying the government did not appoint them for around three years although they were qualified and selected.
More than 40,000 candidates qualified in the examinations and tests, but the government appointed only 14,000 and the rest are being deprived of the job, the petitioners alleged.
