BCL man killed in Cox’s Bazar
An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League, was stabbed to death by another BCL man in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar early today.
The victim was identified as Mohammad Shaheen, 20, a final year student of Ukhiya Degree College, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports quoting Habibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station.
Jahangir Alam, former joint convenor of the college BCL unit, stabbed Shaheen indiscriminately when he was visiting a trade fair at Ukhiya Sadar around 12:30am, said Syed Mohammad Noma, president of the upazila BCL unit.
Locals rushed Shaheen to Ukhiya Upazila Health Complex. Later, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital around 1:00am, the OC added.
Body of the victim has been handed over to the family members, but no case has yet been filed in this connection.
