Law Minister Anisul Huq today urged the judges to become more cautious and rigid in granting bail to the accused detained in connection with militancy-related cases.

"I appeal to the judges to become more rigid in granting bail to the accused in militancy-related cases considering responsibilities of the judiciary and the country's law and order situation," the minister said.

Huq said this while talking to reporters after attending a training programme organised for assistant judges at Judicial Administration Training Institute in Dhaka.

The government instructed the prosecution to place strong arguments before the court against "militants" seeking bail, Huq said.

The investigation into the terrorist attack at Holey Artisan Bakery is going on in a fair manner, the minister said.

The culprits responsible for planning and conspiring the attack will be tried and punished after the investigation, he added.
