Body of Marma girl found in Bandarban

Police yesterday recovered the body of an indigenous girl from Lama upazila of Bandarban.

The deceased, Mya Hla U Marma, aged around 18, is a resident of Aung Hlari U Kya Ching Para, our Bandarban correspondent reports quoting Oppela Raju Naha, officer-in-charge (OC) of Lama Police Station.

“Primarily we are suspecting she was murdered as miscreants looted some valuables, though we didn’t find any injury marks on her body,” the official said.

The body was sent to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he said.

“Valuables including some ornaments, and her android mobile phone were looted,” said Cra Hla Aung Marma, father of the victim.

Meanwhile, the victim’s maternal uncle Kya Kya Marma, suspected that someone might have killed her after rape.
