DB to probe Natore Christian grocer murder
Detective Branch (DB) has been handed the investigation of the case filed over the gruesome murder of the veteran Christian grocer in Natore.
The handover was made today and Abdul Hye, officer-in-charge of Natore DB police, has been appointed as investigation officer in the case, reports our district correspondent.

Sixty-year-old Sunil Gomez was killed when he was alone in his shop at Bonpara Christian Palli in the upazila. Investigating officers had said the killing bore similarity to previous militant killings.
Victim’s daughter Swapna Gomez filed the murder case against unidentified criminals with Baraigram Police Station around 10:00am yesterday.
Hours after the incident, global terror outfit Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the killing, according to SITE Intelligence Group that monitors terrorist activities.
