'Drug peddler' killed in Mirpur ‘gunfight’ with cops
An alleged drug peddler was killed in a “gunfight” with law enforcers in Mirpur 13 of Dhaka tonight.
Abdus Salam, 35, a drug peddler living in Bhashantek slum in Mirpur died in the gunfight between his cohorts and policemen at Ali Hossain Road in Mirpur 13 around 12:15am, Jakir Hossain, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) assistant commissioner (AC) of Pallabi Zone told The Daily Star.
There were several cases against Salam in different police station including Bhashantek, the AC said.
Salam was brought dead to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, police said.
Several bullet wounds were found in Salam’s body including his waist, hand and leg.
