Father, daughter among 4 killed in Magura road crashes
Four people including a man and his daughter were killed in separate accidents in Magura.
The deceased were identified as Mamtaj Ali, 35, from Magura Sadar upazila, his daughter Sumaya, 6, Shohrab Fakir, 55, and Shishir Biswas, 30.
Mamtaj Ali was going to his in-laws' house at Shalikha upazila from Magura along with his wife Shapla Begum and daughter Sumaya by an engine-run three-wheeler around 12:00pm, Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shalikha Police Station, told our Magura correspondent.
En route, near Krishnapur area a passenger bus crushed the three-wheeler killing Sumaya on the spot and leaving her parents badly injured.
Later, Mamtaj Ali succumbed to his injuries at Magura 250-bed Sadar Hospital.
Ali's wife Shapla is undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police seized the bus involved in the accident, the OC said.
Meanwhile, Shohrab Fakir was crushed by a motorcycle on Magura-Faridpur road at Lakkhikandar village around 11:00pm last night, Ripon Hosen, sub-inspector from Magura Sadar Police Station said.
He too was declared dead by on-duty doctors after he had been rushed to Magura 250-bed Sadar Hospital, the police official said.
In another accident at Goaldah bus stand in Shripur upazila, Shishir Biswas lost his life when his motorcycle crashed upfront with a truck around 10:00pm last night, Mahbubur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sripur Police Station said.
