JnU teachers decide to participate in admission test
Jagannath University teachers will participate in the university’s admission test programme, a press release from their behalf said today.
The decision came after an emergency general meeting today considering the plight of aspirant students and request of general teachers, it read.
Earlier, Jagannath teachers had boycotted the admission test during public university teachers’ agitation for a new and separate pay scale.
Hours after the decision on October 7, they were expelled from agitating public university teachers’ platform Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Association (FBUTA).
The platform of all 37 public universities in the country said Jagannath teachers had flouted FBUTA’s decision and breached organisational rules.
FBUTA had assured Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid they would conduct all classes and examinations this month and go on indefinite strike if their demands are not met by October 31.
The admission test for Jagannath University will be held on October 30.
