Jubo League activist stabbed dead in Pabna

An activist of Jubo League, the youth wing of ruling Awami League, was stabbed to death over previous enmity at Library Bazar in Pabna town last night.

Deceased Md Munna Chowdhury, 35, was son of Rawshan Ali of Gobinda area, reports our Pabna correspondent.

Munna’s younger brother Rajib had a conflict with some local boys over previous enmity, said Abdullah Al Hasan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Pabna Sadar Police Station.

When Munna rushed to the spot to calm down the situation, the criminals stabbed him around 9:00pm, the OC said.

Locals rescued Munna and took him to Pabna General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries one hour later.

Publicity Affair Secretary of Jubo League, Fahimul Kabir Khan, said, “He was killed over previous enmity, not because of political conflict.”

The body was sent to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy this morning, said the OC.
