‘Kamaruzzman's execution is needed to uphold '71 spirit’ (video)
Death sentence of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and war crime convict Muhammad Kamaruzzaman should be executed as soon as possible to uphold the spirit of the Liberation War in 1971, people on the streets shared their sentiments today.
“Kamaruzzaman is an identified war criminal. We will be glad if his death sentence is executed today,” several people on the move in Farmgate area told The Daily Star.
“The Jamaat leader and his associates are the enemy of our country and the nation. We have been bearing the war crimes stigma since long,” said one Ujjal, a graduate.
“We will be able to free the country from war criminals through execution of the death sentence,” he added.
Not only Kamaruzzaman, all people accused of war crimes will have to be tried to uphold our spirit of the Liberation War, Mostafa Kamal, who witnessed Freedom Fight in 1971, shared his reaction.
Execution of the death sentence is needed to boost sentiments of the freedom loving people, one Atikullah Zia told The Daily Star.
