Minor raped and killed in Gazipur, 2 arrested

Police recovered the body of an eight-year-old schoolchild from a septic tank in Gazipur city last night. Allegations are that she was raped before murder.

The victim was a second grader at Hyderabad Government Primary School, our local correspondent reports quoting police. A case has been filed in this regard and two arrested.

Bleeding from the pelvic region and bite marks on the face led to suspicions led us to believe she was raped, said Inspector (SI) Mobarak Hossain of Pubail police camp.

Her body was found in the septic tank of the house of one Rahmat Ullah, 18, cousin of the victim in Dakhinkhan Purbapara area around 11:00pm. The body was recovered and sent for autopsy.

Victim’s father filed a case with Joydebpur Police Station last night accusing Rahmat Ullah Mona, 18, his mother Fojilot Begum, 40, and his sister Nasima Akhter.

Fojilot Begum and Nasima Akhter were readily arrested while Rahmat is on the run.
