An activist of ruling Awami League (AL) was stabbed to death in Sharsha upazila of Jashore yesterday.
The deceased -- Anisur Rahman (45) -- was an AL president aspirant of ward no. 4 in Nizampur union of the upazila, our local correspondent reports.

Abul Kalam, chairman of Nizampur union parishad, said Anisur was sitting with some locals at a shop of one Sohrab at Mollapara yesterday evening.
At that time, Nasir Uddin, son of late Hamja Ali of the area, stabbed him on his shoulder with a sharp weapon from behind, the chairman added.
After stabbing, Nasir beat him with a hammer, said the chairman.
