Dhaka-Rajshahi flights to resume tomorrow
The government will resume air-connectivity on the Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka route from tomorrow as the sixth domestic destination, following reopening of air travel to Chattogram, Sylhet, Saidpur, Jashore and Barishal since the suspension of flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) has taken the decision to resume flight operations on the route as the district civil surgeon's office arranged necessary human resources and facilities at the airport there to monitor that health guidelines regarding hygiene and social distancing are being followed.
The country's two private carriers -- US-Bangla Airlines and Novoair -- have taken preparations to resume their operations on Dhaka-Rajshahi-Dhaka route from tomorrow after nearly four months of flight suspension on this route.
Both the airlines have decided to operate two daily flights on the route. The US-Bangla airlines flight will depart at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm and Novoair flights at 10:30 am and 4:30 pm from Dhaka to Rajshahi every day, airlines officials said.
According to CAAB guidelines, airlines are operating flights keeping at least 30 percent seats vacant on each flight to ensure social distancing by keeping at least the gap of a seat between two passengers if they are not from the same family.
