Feni headmaster confesses to raping fifth grader

The headmaster of a school in Feni’s Daganbhuiyan upazila today confessed that he raped a class-V student of his school.

The accused, Abdul Karim Khan Bahadur, headmaster of Khushipur Government Primary School, made the confessional statement under section 164 before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate ASM Amran, said Md Saleh Ahmad Pathan, officer-in-charge of Daganbhuiyan Police Station.

The headmaster confessed that he raped the student of his school multiple times, the OC told a correspondent in Feni.

Earlier, police arrested the headmaster on April 4 on the allegation of rape of the fifth grader. The victim’s elder sister filed a case with Daganbhuiyan Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act on the following day of his arrest.

The headmaster made the confessional statement before the court today on completion of remand, OC said. Later, the court sent him to jail, he added.

Meanwhile, the doctors at Feni Sadar Hospital have found signs of rape, after conducting medical test of the victim, said Md Abu Taher, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of the hospital.
