Nusrat murder: Another accused remanded
A Feni court today placed another accused on a seven-day remand in a case filed over the murder of madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
Senior Judicial Magistrate M Zakir Hossain passed the order after Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) produced Jabed Hossain before the court with the 10-day remand prayer, reports our Feni correspondent quoting police.
Jabed is one of the accused in the murder case, said PBI Inspector M Shah Alam, also the investigation officer of the case.
A PBI team arrested Jabed from Rampur area of Feni Sadar upazila last night.
With this, thirteen people were arrested in connection with Nusrat’s murder, the inspector said.
Of them, the Feni court has placed 10 people including madrasa principal Siraj on remand with different periods, the official added.
WHAT HAPPENED TO NUSRAT?
Nusrat, a student of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set ablaze on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case filed against the principal for sexually harassing her late last month.
Only a few minutes before the Alim exams on April 6, four unidentified people allegedly took Nusrat to the roof of the three-storey administrative building of the madrasa saying one of her friends was being assaulted there, victim's brother Mahmudul Hasan Noman had told this newspaper earlier.
She lost her battle for life on April 10, five days after she was set afire -- an incident that sparked outrage all over the country.
