Over 29 lakh students to sit for primary terminal exams this year
A total of 29,03,638 students are going to sit for Primary School Certificate (PSC) and its equivalent Ebtedayee terminal examinations for the fifth graders that will begin on November 17.
This year, the number of examinees in PSC and Ebtedayee examinations has been dropped by 2,23,615 and 30,983 in comparison to the previous year.
State Minister for Primary and Mass Education M Zakir Hossain said this while briefing journalists about the examinations at the ministry this noon.
Among 25,53,267 PSC examinees, 11,82,300 are male and 13,71,167 are female.
On the other hand, 3,50,371 examinees, including 1,87,082 male and 1,63,289 female, are appearing this year’s Ebtedayee terminal examinations.
The examinations will be held at 7,458 centres across the country and eight centres abroad.
The examinations will end on November 24.
Exams would start at 10:30am and end at 1:00pm everyday.
Children with special needs would be given extra 30 minutes.
