2 Rab men killed in Narayanganj road crash

2 members of Rapid Action Battalion were killed and six others injured in a head on collision between a truck and a Rab pick-up van in Araihazar upazila of Narayanganj.

The deceased were identified as Mansur, a sergeant of the Rab 11 and Sohel, a constable who was driving the pick-up van, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.

Two amongst the six injured were admitted to CMH Hospital in Dhaka and the other four were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The accident took place when a truck hit the pick-up van which was carrying Rab-11 patrol team around 11:45am, leaving the two killed and seven others wounded, our correspondent reports quoting Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Narayanganj Mokhlesur Rahman.

Sohel was immediately rushed into Dhaka CMH Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead, he added.

Identities of the truck driver could not be known immediately as the truck fled the scene soon after the accident.
