Halls in Narayanganj experience new life
Marking Eid-ul-Fitr, three halls in Narayanganj have been reopened on April 22.
New Metro Cinema Hall, located in Khanpur, Narayanganj have premiered Shakib Khan and Shobnom Bubly starrer "Leader: Amie Bangladesh".
While Shajal Noor and Puja Chery featuring film "Jinn" was screened on Cinescope, at DIT area. On the other hand, Bappy Chowdhury and Zahara Mitu starrer "Shotru" rejuvenated Gulshan cinema hall.
These three cinema halls mentioned above have been closed for a long time. Thus, they were not clean enough and filled with dust and dirt. Besides cleaning, the hall owners have tried their best to repair various accessories including sound, lights, fans.
Meanwhile, there have been advanced booking for "Jinn" as the authorities have informed the media. Also, on the first day, all of the films in the three halls have received good responses from the audience.'
In the past few years, more than a dozen cinema halls have been closed in Narayanganj due to the lack of audiences. Rupali, Rangdhanu, Moonlight, Raj Mahal, Samrat, Light House, Feroze Mahal, Suruj Mahal, Asha, Mashar and Hangsho cinema halls have been closed in the last era. However, Banani cinema hall in Fatullah-Panchabati Bsik area is open, but it is running at a loss.
According to the officials of cinema halls in Narayanganj, even after the release of multiple films this Eid, if the audience does not return as before, then the remaining halls will be closed soon.
