There’ll be more investment for women: Planning minister
State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan today committed to make more investments for women and girls.
“If you give us projects with welfare aspects for women and girls, we will surely allocate budget for those,” he said at a views exchange meeting at Women Deliver 2016 Global Conference in Copenhagen.
Some 30 representatives from government and non-government organisations of Bangladesh took part in the meeting.
The four-day conference focused on women and children, who are at the centre stage of Sustainable Development Goals 2030 that says ‘none should be left behind’.
MA Mannan also said Bangladesh’s domestic resources are increasing, but often the problem remains that there are allocations, but no logical projects are being submitted.
Also, very often some projects are seen visible, but are actually weak, he added.
He also suggested that the people, civil society members, NGOs and media should ask the government how it is spending its resources.
“Watch our works…how and where we are spending public money. Inquire about it. This is more important,” MA Mannan said.
