Nepal probe too finds fault in landing approach
The probe body in Nepal investigating the US-Bangla plane crash that killed 51 people, including 28 Bangladeshis, says that it too has found fault in the aircraft’s landing approach.
“From what we have learned so far, the landing direction of the 78- seater US-Bangla Airlines Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft was wrong,” said Yagya Prasad Gautam, chief of the probe body.

Speaking about the progress of crash probe to The Daily Star this evening, the former director of Civil Aviation Authority, Nepal, said: “We won’t blame anyone, we will find out the fact.”
Earlier, Raj Kumar Chhetri, general manager of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Kathmundu, Nepal, also said that they believe that a faulty landing approach was what caused the crash.
The US-Bangla Airlines flight BS211, a 76-seater Bombardier Dash 8 Q-400, slammed on an empty field, caught fire, last Monday. It left a trail of twisted metal and scattered luggage on the fateful day.
It had claimed the lives of 51 people, including 28 Bangladeshis.
It has been claimed from Bangladesh side that a confusion arose between the plane’s pilot and the Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower of TIA before the crash.
