US visas halted for technical glitch
The US embassy in Dhaka is undergoing technical anomaly which has compelled a halt in its visa processing for those in Bangladesh.
“We are currently unable to print most immigrant and nonimmigrant visas approved after June 8, 2015,” a notice in the embassy’s website says.
“In addition, US embassies/consulates are currently unable to process new applications submitted on or after June 9,” the notice added.
“All nonimmigrant visa appointments at US embassy scheduled on June 17-18 have been cancelled and rescheduled for June 24,” it said adding the applicants have already been notified in this regard.
The authorities of US Department of Stat’s Bureau of Consular Affairs apologised for the problem.
“This issue is not specific to any particular country or visa category. We apologise for the inconvenience and are working urgently to correct the problem and restore full operability. These systems issues are also impacting processing of US visas.”
