‘Music @ Desk’ to air Ahmed Hasan Sunny’s hits tonight
The musical programme "Music @Desk", on Prothom Alo's YouTube channel, is set to air its latest episode featuring budding musician Ahmed Hasan Sunny tonight at 9pm.
Sunny has been singing for nearly a decade, it was only about four years ago that he gained significant recognition. He became widely known for his songs "Shohorer Duita Gaan" and "Amra Hoyto".
His song "Amare Uraiya Diyo" from the film "Swapnajaal" became a sensation after its release. Sunny also combined the poetry of Al Mahmud's "Ami Ar Asbo Na Bole" with Muiz Mahfuz's "Jhoruk Shondhya Kadamtoley" to create the song "Shohorer Duita Gaan".
In addition to these four songs, Sunny has reportedly performed and recorded "Anondo Bhoirobi", "Manush Keno Erokom," and, by special request, the moving "Song of Palestine" (Philistiner Gaan) and "Ke Ar Bajate Pare" for tonight's episode.
He began the session with a rendition of "Shob Plastic er Putul". Throughout the performance, guitarist Antu Das accompanied Sunny, adding to the musical ambience.
Prothom Alo organises "Music @ Desk" once a month. Reminiscent of the popular "Tiny Desk Concert" on YouTube, it has featured performances by various artistes so far.
