Naseem Ali Khan, one of the lead vocalists of the beloved band Souls, has officially announced his departure, bringing an end to his 45-year journey with the iconic band.

Earlier this year, Naseem was noticeably absent from the band's two-month-long US tour in March, which was organised to commemorate Souls' 50th anniversary. At the time, speculation about his potential departure began to mount, but the vocalist dismissed these rumours, citing personal reasons for his absence.

However, his continued unavailability during Souls' subsequent tours in the United Kingdom and Australia further fuelled the narrative. Now, with the confirmation of his departure, the curtain has fallen on his long-standing association with the band.

Naseem explained his decision, stating, "As a businessman, it is challenging for me to stay away from Dhaka or travel abroad for extended periods. With Souls' 50th anniversary came an increase in performances, leading to a much busier schedule for the band. My commitments in Dhaka, particularly related to my business, made it difficult for me to keep up."

"Throughout my 45-year journey with Souls, I have always tried to balance music and business. However, managing both has become nearly impossible now. That said, if Souls ever faces a crisis, I will always be there to support them," the singer added.

Souls' leader Partha Barua addressed Naseem Ali Khan's departure, expressing, "Naseem bhai's business commitments have made it difficult for him to dedicate time to the band. However, Souls will undoubtedly feel his absence."

Naseem Ali Khan began his association with Souls as a guest member in 1978 before becoming an active part of the band in 1980. While he has now stepped away from Souls, he has assured everyone that he will continue on his musical journey as a solo artiste.
