Witness Syed Jamil Ahmed’s ‘Ami Birangona Bolchhi’ this Eid
The book "Ami Birangona Bolchhi", written by Dr Nilima Ibrahim, is a strong documentation containing a collection of interviews of the victims who were brutally tortured and raped by the Pakistani soldiers and their collaborators, in 1971.
Based on the book, the great Jamil Ahmed's Spordha: Independent Theatre Collective has produced its fourth production of "Ami Birangona Bolchhi", which began staging from June 16 at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy's (BSA) National Theater Hall.
The play will have a three-day special exhibition during Eid from June 28 to 30, at BSA. The play has been designed and directed by Syed Jamil Ahmed.
On June 28, the show will begin from 7:30 pm, while on June 29 it has two shows at 4:30 pm and 7:30 pm. On June 30, the play will have two shows, at 4:30 pm and the concluding show will be staged at 7:30 pm at the same venue.
The play's cast includes Buri Ali, Sraboni Ferdous, Armeen Musa, Mohosina Akhtar, Sharmin Akhtar, Mohammad Sohel Rana, Sarwar Jahan, Sifat Nowreen, Zopari Lushai, Riasat Salekin, Umme Ayman. Music has been arranged by Ghaashphoring Choir.
