Actress Shimana in critical condition after severe brain haemorrhage
Lux Channel i Superstar famed actress Rista Laboni Shimana is in critical condition following a severe brain haemorrhage. Her health deteriorated rapidly six days ago, leading to her hospitalisation last Monday (May 20) at a renowned hospital in the capital.
Providing updates on her condition, singer Parvez Sazzad and Actors' Equity Bangladesh President Ahsan Habib Nasim confirmed that doctors have diagnosed a brain haemorrhage and that her condition has been worsening. Shimana is currently under intensive medical care.
Parvez shared that Shimana had been dealing with health issues for several days before her sudden collapse last Monday. She is now receiving treatment at the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital. Parvez reported, "She underwent surgery yesterday. It's too early to determine her current condition."
When asked about the medical team's assessment, Parvez mentioned, "She is still under observation. The doctors haven't given a definitive statement yet. They indicated that more time is needed. She is on a ventilator, and the doctors will decide the next steps after completing their observations."
Shimana's family is by her side during this challenging time. Ahsan Habib Nasim said, "We have heard that her condition is worsening. Our organisation is in touch with her family and will provide any support needed. We are here for her."
Shimana began her career in the entertainment industry in 2006, gaining recognition through the Lux-Channel i Superstar competition. She received critical acclaim for her performance in Tauquir Ahmed's film "Daruchini Dwip" and subsequently appeared in numerous television dramas.
In 2016, she took a hiatus from acting, which was later revealed to be due to her becoming a mother. After the birth of her two children, Shimana returned to acting last year.
