After breaking box-office in ‘Gadar 2’, Sunny Deol to star in ‘Border 2’ next

After almost 26 years, Sunny Deol will be starring next in "Border 2". The film will be piloted by JP Dutta, who also directed the first part of the film, back in 1997. According to reports however, the second part of the film will not have any of the original cast members.

"Border 2" will star Sunny Deol and a plethora of new actors, reported Pinkvilla. The 1997 film starred Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, Pooja Bhatt, Tabu, Sharbani Mukherjee along with senior actors Raakhee, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Puneet Issar. It was among the biggest blockbusters in the 90s.

Regarding "Border 2" a source claimed to Pinkvilla, "The team has been discussing the probability of making a 'Border' sequel for the last 2 to 3 years and everything has now finally fallen into place as the team is all set to make an official announcement of 'Border 2' in a fortnight. The team has identified a tale from the 1971 Indo-Pak war that is yet not told on the big screen and are all charged up to bring it to the spectacle."

The source also mentioned, "Being a heavy-on action film, the team will be casting actors from the younger generation rather than bringing together the entire troop of 'Border'. Sunny Deol will probably be the only actor from 'Border', who will be a part of 'Border 2' as well. It's all in the early stages at the moment and more updates shall come our way once the film is officially announced very soon".

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer film "Gadar 2" has been experiencing a meteoric rise ever since its release on July 26. The film has already entered the Rs 100 crore club in the Indian box office, mounting higher as of now.  Directed by Anil Sharma, the film stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsh Sharma, Simrat Kaur, and Manish Wadhwa among others.
