Multiple complaints filed against SRK-Deepika over ‘Besharam Rang’

Multiple complaints filed against SRK-Deepika over ‘Besharam Rang’

Ever since the release of the song, "Besharam Rang", it has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The song stirred a lot of controversies, with many Indians calling to 'boycott' the film.  Many have touted the song as being 'vulgar', saying that it goes against Indian culture.

Vineet Jindal, an attorney for the Supreme Court, recently filed a complaint to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry of India, against Deepika and SRK for the "objectionable video."

The lawyer has demanded that the release of "Pathaan" be halted, until the makers correct their mistake by making appropriate alterations to the song.

According to News18, the complainant stated the following in his appeal to Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur: "Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, and others should face legal repercussions for their intentional and malicious actions to offend the religious sensibilities of the Hindu community through obscene visual and verbal representation in the widely shared video song. This behavior violates sections 295A, 298, 505, 67 IT Act, and 34 IPC. Additionally, it is demanded that the film be outlawed and immediately taken down from the internet due to the hurt and enmity it would create to Hindus given that it has disparaged their religious beliefs."

An additional complaint has also been made to a court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, asking for an FIR to be launched against Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika for allegedly "hurting" religious emotions.

Despite these protests, the song has already proved a massive success for the film. "Pathaan", directed by Siddharth Anand is set for release on January 25, 2023.
