Seven years after her last collaboration with Jaaz Multimedia, Nusraat Faria, one of the most prominent faces in Bangladeshi cinema, is making her return to the production house for the upcoming horror thriller "Jinn 3".

The film, set to begin shooting in February, is the latest instalment of Jaaz's popular supernatural franchise that first premiered in 2023, capturing the audience's intrigue with its dark, eerie atmosphere.

In 2023, "Jinn" directed by Nader Chowdhury, introduced audiences to a chilling new cinematic universe, generating significant curiosity. Last year, the follow-up, "Mona: Jinn 2", directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, built on that momentum, earning critical and commercial success, especially in Dhaka's cineplexes.

Now, Jaaz is gearing up for the third film in the series, with Faria taking on a key role—her first with the production company since 2018.

Nusraat Faria's relationship with Jaaz Multimedia began in 2015 when she made her big-screen debut in "Aashiqui: True Love" a collaboration that launched her into stardom. Over the next few years, she starred in several films by the production house, including "Inspector Notty K", released in 2018. However, following that film, Faria stepped back from working with the company—until now. With "Jinn 3", she marks a highly anticipated return to her roots.

In a heartfelt social media post, Faria expressed her excitement about returning to the production house that launched her career. Sharing a photo with Abdul Aziz, the head of Jaaz Multimedia, she wrote, "It feels like coming home. In 2014, during Channel i's 'Shera Kontho' Grand Finale in Qatar, Aziz bhai saw me perform for the first time. He offered me roles in films several times after that, but I wasn't ready."

"Then, in 2015, during a commercial shoot in Kolkata, I met him again, and that's when I finally agreed to do my first film with Jaaz. Without him, none of this would've been possible. Now, seven years later, it feels wonderful to be back."

Faria, whose last film was released in 2022, sees the ongoing year as a pivotal time for her career. In an interview, she reflected on the upcoming year with optimism, "2025 is a milestone for me. I'm starting the year with a film, which is exciting in itself, but it's also my 10th year in the industry."

"My first movie, 'Aashiqui', was released in 2015, and now, a decade later, I'm once again working with the production house that gave me my start. Aside from films, I'm also releasing several new songs this year. I've already shot the music videos, including one with Fuad bhai (Fuad Almuqtadir) and another with Muza."

The upcoming "Jinn 3" will once again be helmed by Kamruzzaman Roman, who directed "Jinn 2". While the filmmaker has been tight-lipped about the plot and casting, he has hinted at surprises, assuring fans that the production will introduce fresh faces and unexpected twists. Filming is set to begin on February 1, with the movie slated for release during one of the major festivals later in the year.
