People hire an auditorium at Cannes, then say their film was 'screened'
Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently opened up in an interview about the Cannes Film Festival. According to the actor, it is easy to screen films at the festival. "Hire an auditorium, click photos, come back and say, 'Our film got screened', that's easy!" shared the actor.
Even though the "Gangs of Wasseypur" star attended the festival nine times himself, he says that he does not understand why people go to Cannes. "Even if a film doesn't get officially selected, it is not difficult to screen the movie."

Citing his film "Miss Lovely" (2012), he emphasised that a good review at Cannes doesn't guarantee that the film will be successful in the market.
Indian artistes such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan, Manushi Chhillar, Urvashi Rautela, Sunny Leone and Anurag Kashyap, among others, attended the 76th edition of the world's most prestigious film festival.
Nawazuddin continued his bold comments on the matter, stating, "You can take your film, irrespective of whether it has been officially selected or not, hire an auditorium and give money to the owner, lay down your own red carpet, take your own people, click photos, screen your movie for the people, come back and say, 'Our film got screened at the Cannes Film Festival'."
A few days ago, the actor was criticised for making insensitive comments about mental health issues. He was even bashed by netizens for making 'ignorant' remarks.
Meanwhile, the actor also made headlines for his thoughts about the ban on "The Kerala Stories". According to him, if a film is disrupting social harmony, then it is extremely wrong. He further added that films should be made to promote social harmony and keep society united, not to create riots or break social bonds.
