2 Covid-19 deaths, 1,680 cases reported in 24 hours

Two people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 29,140 and the death rate stands at 1.48 percent.

At least 1,680 new Covid-19 cases were recorded during the period.

The current positivity rate is 15.66 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.75 percent.

Meanwhile, with the new infections, the total number of cases rose to 19,65,173, added the release.

A total of 10,728 samples were tested across the country during this period.

At least 169 patients have recovered from Covid-19 within this time. The total number of recoveries now stands at 19,06,688 and the recovery rate at 97.02 percent, said the release.

Among the two deceased, one was a man and one woman. Of them, one was between 61-70 years old, and another was 91-100 years old, added the release.
