India’s daily Covid-19 caseload crosses 2,000 again
The number of India's daily Covid-19 cases crossed the 2,000-mark once again with 2,067 new infections reported in 24 hours, according to the data by Indian health ministry.
The fresh infections number is 66 percent higher than the previous day, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
India's total tally of Covid-19 cases rose to 4,30,47,594 while the active cases increased to 12,340, according to the ministry data. The death toll climbed to 5,22,006 with 40 fresh fatalities.
The Indian government yesterday advised five states – Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana and Mizoram, which are reporting a slight uptick in cases – to monitor the spread of the virus and take prompt steps accordingly.
