With 19 deaths, the country today recorded the highest number of fatalities from dengue fever this year.

With the new deaths, this year's death toll from the mosquito-born disease rose to 146, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At least 1,792 dengue patients were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till this morning. Among them, 870 were from outside Dhaka.

Of this year's infected people, some 5,592 dengue patients are still undergoing treatment in different hospitals of the country.

in 2022, the country saw 281 deaths while 62,382 cases were reported. 23,162 of those were from outside Dhaka.

Experts urged authorities concerned to conduct extensive drives identifying clusters of Aedes mosquitoes as soon as possible to curb the potential outbreak of the disease.
