One dengue patient died while 16 others were hospitalised in the last 24 hours till this morning.

With the new death, the total number of deaths rose to 17 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the new cases, this year's caseload rose to 1,316.

Last year, the country witnessed 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 321,179 reported cases.
