The first thing that comes to mind when you think of a teenagers' wall décor are posters of musicians and artists, blockbuster movies, video games and cheeky cartoon shows that one never really got over. And whilst a poster of Stewie Griffin might just be a great way to show off your personality, there is so much more that you can do to give your walls the "you" look. Perhaps something a bit more elevated in terms of style? 

Themes: The first thing to consider in wall décor is colour themes. A very simple and easy way to customise your wall is to add different shades of colour - dark and light.  A dark accent wall surrounded by lighter colours will change the look of your room dramatically and also give off that masculine vibe.  Perhaps another wall can be turned into a gallery to compliment your dark theme, where you can still display some of your favourites.

Murals: Make your room come alive and give it a more personalised feel with wall murals! You can display any image to your liking. From something as simple as a mural of a football to more elaborate abstracts, these images will have a great visual impact. You can also go au natural by choosing murals that mimic the natural surroundings -- maybe something close to the view outside your window.  A beach wall mural will let you live in a room overlooking the beach without moving to a tropical island.

Decals: Another easy alternative to definitely consider for your wall décor is decals. Decals are high quality vinyl stickers designed to take your walls to the next level. A cost effective alternative to expensive wall converting, these graphic decals will help you further showcase your imagination.  From forests to subway maps to Steve Jobs quotes, there are absolutely no limits: your decals can be any image that you want. Also, applying a decal doesn't require any expertise - you just paste on a huge life-sized sticker!

Wallpaper: If you want to go for a more low-key option, then a wallpaper might just be the right thing for you. You will also get a variety of wallpaper themes to work with. It could be something as timeless as the brick wallpaper or something a bit funkier - maybe sketched frames or tetris.

Speaking of timeless, once you are decided on your wall design, feel free to hang up some artwork. While posters are a good way to go, the visual impact of art on a contrasting wall will be stronger and much more noticeable.
