Workshop on child protection held
A workshop targeting children aged 7 to 12 years was conducted by Yellow Brick Road (YBR) at RAOWA club on Friday, 8 March, 2019 at 10AM. The workshop focused on teaching children about how they could protect themselves from harm and abuse. YBR, in cooperation with RAOWA (Retired Armed Forces Officers Welfare Association, Bangladesh), conducted this workshop, where children from multiple nationalities, as well as from Bangladesh, attended. The workshop was facilitated by Farin Daulah and the YBR team at the RAOWA club venue.
The workshop was interactive and animated, where children participated in role plays, along with painting and short discussions. This activity proved very beneficial and an entertaining method to teaching children about safety and protection.
YBR also talked to the parents about their roles in creating an enabling environment for children to be self-aware. Farin Daulah, Managing Director of YBR, in a statement, mentioned that in the current context of Bangladesh — it is very important to educate children and create social awareness on the importance of protecting children from abuse.
