Trucker Deen Islam being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after robbers hacked him in the head and right arm in the capital's Shyamoli while he with 16 tonnes of sugar in his truck was moving towards Savar from Meghna Ghat early yesterday. According to police, a pickup used in the robbery fled after hitting his right leg when he stayed injured on the road after the attack. A bus goes over the precarious Rajbari Bridge on Tangail-Bhuapur Road. The bridge makes banging and squeaking noise as the bus passes. Half of it is the remnant of an old bridge built before the independence of Bangladesh and the other half is a bailey bridge built later.
