A Dhaka court today ordered the authorities concerned to confiscate movable and immovable properties of former IGP Benazir Ahmed and his family members in three districts in connection with corruption allegations against them.

Anti-Corruption Commission Public Prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed the matter to The Daily Star.

Benazir, Family’s 114 Acres: All bought while he helmed Rab and police

The immovable properties are 24 kathas of land at Rupganj of Narayanganj, three kathas of land at Dhaka's Gulshan area, two flats measuring 3075 square feet at Badda, 25 acres of land at Bandarban and six flats at Adabor of Dhaka. The movable properties are Citizen Television Ltd and Tigerafit Apparels Ltd.

Judge Mohammed Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court of Dhaka passed the order.

ACC Deputy Director, also the enquiry official on the matter, Md Hafizul Islam submitted an application to the court in this regard.
