Ruling Awami League lawmaker from Barisal-4, (Hijla-Mehendiganj) Pankaj Nath has been dismissed from all AL posts for "violating party discipline".

Pankaj Nath was informed about the decision through a letter signed by Awami League Central Office Secretary Biplab Barua yesterday (September 11, 2022).

A copy of the letter was also sent to Barisal District Awami League President and a lawmaker of AL, Abul Hasanat Abdullah, and General Secretary Talukder Md Yunus, today (September 12, 2022).

Despite repeated attempts, Pankaj Nath did not receive this correspondent's phone call.

According to the letter, "The Executive Council of Awami League has dismissed you [Pankaj Nath] from the position of 'member of the advisory council of Barisal district unit of Awami League' on charges of breaching the party's discipline exercising the powers bestowed upon it in line with the party's charter."

"Your written reply on the above matter is requested to be submitted to the central office within the next 15 days," the letter also said.
