Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) has issued a public advisory to avoid the Gulshan-2 area today, due to ongoing construction work for the MRT Line-5 Northern route.

The notification, signed by Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project Director Md Aftab Hossain Khan on January 22, highlighted that service line transfer work will commence under special arrangements in the Gulshan-2 metro station area starting at 8:00am today.

This critical phase of the project, aimed at reducing traffic congestion and preserving the environment in Dhaka city and surrounding areas, is likely to cause significant traffic disruptions in the area.

Commuters have been urged to allocate additional travel time and consider alternative routes to avoid delays. The authorities have expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience and requested public cooperation during this period.
