Ronaldo’s wage revealed
Italian media outlet Tuttosport has reported that Cristiano Ronaldo is earning three times more than the second highest-paid player in Serie A after the Portuguese moved to the Italian club for a 112m euro transfer fee from Real Madrid.
Italian newspaper Tuttosport have revealed the wages of all Serie A players, with the 33-year-old taking home far more than any of his team-mates or rivals.
It should come as no surprise that Ronaldo is the highest-paid player in the Juve team. Having won the Champions League with Real Madrid three times in a row, with the Portuguese being the top-scorer in the competition each time, Ronaldo’s status in the team is that of the star. Tuttosport has revealed that Ronaldo, with 31m euro, is earning three times the sum of Gonazalo Higuain (9.5m euro), who has just moved to AC Milan this transfer window.
Ronaldo’s current teammate Paulo Dybala is the third-highest paid player in the league with seven million euro while teammate Miralem Pjanic is not far behind on 6.5 million euro.
Juve, who have won the league a record consecutive seven times, have the biggest wage bill in the Serie A. Massimiliano Allegri's men are currently spending €219m (£197m/$253m) per season on player salaries alone, while AC Milan are next as they hand out €140m (£126m/$162m) per year.
