Raushan urges Ershad to defer JP council
Raushan Ershad has urged HM Ershad, chairman of Jatiya Party, to defer the party’s council date scheduled to be held on May 14.
Raushan, leader of the opposition and a senior presidium member of the party, came up with the demand at a press conference at parliament’s media centre this afternoon.
Ershad should cancel the scheduled date and fix a new one, she urged.
Ershad recently appointed GM Quader the party's co-chairman and Ruhul Amin Hawlader as secretary general. Ershad could not take the decisions alone without consulting with other members of the party, said Raushan, also wife of Ershad.
Water Resources Minister and JP Presidium Member Anisul Islam Mahmud at the press conference said that he hoped that JP Chairman Ershad will accept their demand.
