N’ganj teacher should be reinstated: 14-party

Leaders of the ruling Awami League-led 14-party political alliance today said the government should reinstate the headmaster of Piyar Sattar Latif High School who was suspended after humiliation in public.

The alliance also thinks Jatiya Party lawmaker AKM Salim Osman has failed to honour his position as a lawmaker by humiliating the schoolteacher, Health Minister Mohammad Nasim, also spokesperson of the alliance, told journalists after a joint meeting at AL president’s political office in Dhanmondi today.

“The person was not only humiliated but also lost his job. It was unjust. We think he should be reinstated,” said the senior AL leader.

What the lawmaker had done in a broad daylight is an unpardonable crime, Nasim said.

“So, the alliance wants the persons responsible for the humiliation to be brought to book,” the minister opined.
