The Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) football tournament is back after six years and so is The Daily Star. The popular English language daily yesterday launched its title defence with a 1-0 win against Gtv in a closely-fought game at the Handball Stadium.

Mohammed Al-Amin, a veteran campaigner, rolled back the years to tap in the winner after being nicely fed by a silky Fazlur Rahman. The victory guaranteed The Daily Star a place in today's quarterfinal against Kaler Kantha, a leading Bangla daily, who disposed of bdnews24.com 4-1 in a shootout.

The six-a-side tournament involving the media houses is being sponsored by Walton.
