Bangladesh to open 2018 U-19 World Cup campaign against Namibia
Bangladesh will take on Namibia in Christchurch in the opening day of the U-19 World Cup which also features three other matches, ICC media release reveals.
The tournament features 16 teams across seven venues in four cities – Christchurch, Queenstown, Tauranga and Whangarei.
The schedule of the World Cup was released by the International cricket council (ICC) on Thursday.
Bangladesh are in Group C, which comprises of teams like Canada, Namibia and England. Namibia made the tournament courtesy of being the best finishing associate in the last edition of the tournament.
Last year a team featuring Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Nazmul Hossain Shanto lost to West Indies in the semifinals of the tournament on home soil. This year the onus will be on Saif Hassan to bring glory to Bangladesh.
Group A consists of West Indies, New Zealand, South Africa, Kenya.
Group B is composed of India, Australia, Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea.
Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Asia qualifier Afghanistan and Europe qualifier Ireland form Group D
