Medical admission: Order on mark deduction Tuesday
The High Court will deliver tomorrow an order on the government’s “discriminatory” move to deduct marks for second time medical admission seekers.
The High Court bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain set the date today. It will pass the order after hearing arguments from the state.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam will argue in favour of the decision to deduct five marks for second time admission seekers, Deputy Attorney General Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar told The Daily Star.
Today, writ petitioner Advocate Eunus Ali Akond placed arguments saying that the decision is discriminatory and contradictory to the national education policy.
Government’s decision to deduct marks from second time admission seekers have drawn protest from the student quarters. Several demonstrations were staged in Dhaka in protest.
