Rtd ASP jailed for not submitting wealth statement to ACC
A Dhaka court today sentenced a retired assistant superintendent of police of City Special Branch to two years’ imprisonment in a case filed for not submitting his wealth statement to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) in due time.
Judge Jalal Uddin Ahmad of the Special Judge Court-10 of Dhaka handed down the sentence in presence of the convict Abdul khaleque Bhuiyan this noon.
The court also fined him Tk one lakh. In default, he will have to suffer three months more in jail.
The court also sent the convict to jail.
According to case statement, ACC sent a notice asking Khaleque to submit his wealth statement on December 2 in 2014. But he did not submit his wealth statement to the ACC in time even though he got the notice.
Khaleque built a six-storey building in his name while 10-storey building in the name of his son at Tilpapara in Khilgaon, according to the statement.
ACC filed a case against Khaleque with Ramna Police Station on March 29 in 2015.
