Bus driver, helper held with yaba tablets

Law enforcers have arrested a bus driver and his helper with a big stash of contraband yaba tablets.

Md Suman, 33, driver of Hanif Paribahan, and helper Md Faruk Alam, 39, were arrested from Manik Mia Avenue around last midnight, said Lt Col Md Anwar Uzzaman, commanding officer (CO) of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-2.

A total of 9,130 yaba tablets were seized from the duo, he said. The bus was en-route to Gabtoli.

Mahbubur Rahman, general manager of Hanif Paribahan, told The Daily Star that the management has sacked both its staffs. “We want them punished under the law.”
